My best beauty buys 2016 for effortless makeup & beautiful skin (and why I stopped blogging for two months)
I am sitting in front of my laptop right now and honestly, I am not entirely sure how to start this post. Last year was really hectic and my life was a roller coaster. As we stepped in 2017 me and my family had the opportunity to move into a bigger house. The last few months have been difficult but exciting at the same time. ” My Best Beauty Buys 2016″ was planned to go live in January but then it got buried under cardboard boxes and dust (I hate moving…)
My Best Beauty Buys 2016
Now I am wring my first blog post for 2017 and I am so ready for a new beginning… In the last few months I felt incomplete without the connection with you and my blog. I felt Ninzbeauty got forgotten and this kind of made me anxious. Anxious, because I was giving up on something I love. So I am eager to make the most out of Ninzbeauty, giving you inspiration and beauty in your day to day life.
Makeup and skincare products to add in your beauty stash
In 2016 I purchased and tested out a good amount of makeup and skincare products. Most of them pleasantly surprised me, quality and packaging wise, others, I would never repurchase. I narrowed down my best beauty buys 2016 to 9 products that I reach out for every day.
The skincare revived my unhappy and dull skin back to health. This is down to Sephora Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying with Zinc And Copper. This is, hands down, the best deep cleansing mask I have ever tried so far. To be honest, I love Glam Glow SuperMud mask and it gave me a great results in the past. However This Sephora purifying mask is only $20 and it is just as good.
I have dry/sensitive skin and I usually apply it around my T-zone and chin area. This mask pulls all the oils and gunk out of my pores. It does tingle slightly after the application but it doesn’t irritate my skin or leaving it too dry. Sephora Mud Mask became permanent part of my skincare regime and being a GlamGlow SuperMud dupe is just as amazing.
Aesop Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream is another favourite of mine. My morning routine would not be complete without this face cream. It quickly became my skin saviour throughout the year. What really intriguing about this products is its purpose of being so lovely for very dry skin but with mattifying finish. Therefore it works amazing as a makeup base. Aesop Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream is everything you need from a moisturiser and I highly recommend it for all year round use. Full review here.
Let me start by saying that genetics had played a role in my under eye bags and dark circles (mum has them too). I also have so many fine lines in this area that any type of concealer will settle in and crease after a while, which makes the picture even worse.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is a magic in a bottle to me. I have never thought that a concealer can do such a fabulous job to my under eye area. It is lightweight and easy to apply. I usually use my Beauty Blender to achieve light, smooth application. When life gets busy, many girls, including me, factor out a fully beauty regime. However a good concealer is always a must have. Despite being a busy mum, I always find time for my UD Naked Skin Concealer. It has a great coverage and I love the flawless finish that it gives to my under eye area throughout the day.Top 9 high-end and drugstore best beauty buys/ 2016 for effortless makeup & beautiful skin.Click To Tweet
If your beauty life is all about simplicity and effortless looks, these cream eyeshadows are just for you. Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in Mona Lisa and Burberry Eye Colour Cream No.106 in Pink Heather are the perfect fuss-free shades. With just one sweep of the brush I can achieve soft smokey eye or a subtle dusty pink look. Both of the cream eye shadows are extremely easy to blend and do not crease throughout the day. Mona Lisa is a beautiful chocolate-bronze shade, while Pink Heater is a rose gold with brown undertone. best beauty buys 2016
I am always a sucker for long-lasting, non-drying matte lipsticks. Both of my best lippy discoveries for 2016 are very wearable and great for any skin tone. Kat Von D in Lolita ΙΙ is a matte liquid lipstick and it is described as a “terracotta nude”. It is muted coral shade with brown undertone. Lolita ΙΙ doesn’t appear or feel dry on the lips. It doesn’t transfer when I eat or drink and it lasts all day long.
Glacè by BITE Beauty is my first product from the company. My friend got it for me when she was in New York. I am so in love with the quality and the shade of this lipstick. Glacè is part of the Matte Crème Lip Crayon collection and it is described as a “dusty mauve”. It is a beautiful muted mauve shade with warm undertones. All of the lipsticks in this range have satin finish rather than matte. However they are long lasting and the formula is super moisturising. BITE lipsticks are made all of natural, food grade and organic ingredients. best beauty buys 2016
My cheeks have been loving two powder products in the last year. NYX Mosaic Powder is more on the affordable side, while Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit was more of a splurge. I purchased NYX blush in Silk MPB05 last Summer when I went on a trip to Barcelona. The actual blush is a pattern of five different shades, all beautiful and slightly shimmery. You can swirl your brush and mix the colours, or you can choose to apply them individually. I love the flush of colour this blush gives to my cheeks and for £6 you can’t go wrong, right? best beauty buys 2016
I don’t think that there is a beauty blogger who hasn’t heard of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette yet. When it first got released it was all over Instagram and everyone in the beauty blogger community was excited about it. Even though it was quite pricey, I thought I have to take a leap and purchase it myself. I own few Hourglass products and they have always impressed me, quality and packaging wise. This was no exception. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful baby… It contains finishing powder, bronzer, highlighter and two blushes. All of them apply so smoothly and the colour payoff is amazing. I have been using this palette ever since I purchased it and it is a “gem” in my beauty stash.
P.S. This is my first time blogging and photographing in my new apartment, yay…
