How to choose the perfect colour blush for red lips
Find the perfect colour blush for red lips
Having red lipstick on your lips is pretty darn sexy, right? But finding the right colour blush for red lips can be quite challenging sometimes…
All the fuss about finding the best shade for your skin tone, the best texture ( not drying but long lasting ) and learning how to apply it precisely can have an overwhelming impact.
So how to pull off red lipstick and pair it with the right shade of blush?
Lipsticks and blushes are usually paired within the same colour family. With this being said you should pair warm colours lipstick with warm colours blusher and opposite – cool colours on your lips with cool colours on your cheeks.
Because the bold lipstick will accentuate your lips and its where the centre of attention is you want the blush to be toned down and very neutral looking but still give a warmth to your face.
If you like matte bold lipsticks than I would recommend using a blush that has a hint of shimmer or glow to it. You can apply a matte blusher and add a highlighter on top to give your cheeks the desire glow. You can always pair red lips with just a bronzer or golden highlighter too.
The blushes I am featuring in today’s post are very neutral and great for your every day makeup routine…
Margin by MAC is describes as a peach with golden shimmer. It has a frosted finish and it is gorgeous. It looks very natural on the cheeks but it still gives a sexy flush of colour. Margin gives a very intense sheen to the cheeks so no highlighter is needed with it.Find the best blush shade to pair with red lipstick and achieve a sexy makeup look.Click To Tweet
Cream Soda by MAC is limited edition and it was part of Archie’s girl collection. Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush in Dim Infusion is a dupe and I love both of them. Cream Soda is described as light neutral coral and it has a satin finish. It is one of those blushes that can be worn with any type of makeup day or night.
Suede 921 by Sleek is light terracotta and it is great for defining your cheek bones. It has a matte finish and it has just the right pigmentation to look beautiful paired with red lips.
Bushbaby by MAC is dusty pink blush with brown undertone. It has a matte finish ( sheer tone blush category in MAC ). It is one of my favourite blushes and I use it pretty much every single day. I really like how it compliments my skin tone… It has a great colour pay off and it gives my cheeks a natural flush without being too pigmented.
Inglot freedom system in AMC BLUSH 59 is a pink blush with tiniest specks of shimmer. This is great blush for red lips (even if it is pink) because it has cool undertone. It looks very natural on the cheeks and is suitable for all skin tones. Inglot blushes tent to be a bit powdery so for best results use big brush and light-handed application.
