Microwave mug cake with chocolate and glacé cherries made in 2 minutes
I can think of nothing better than a cake made in two minutes. Yes, thats right… you can treat yourself for less than two minutes. For the cake and pudding lovers this microwave mug cake is seriously insane.
If you have ever read any of my baking posts you would know by now that cooking is not my forte. I do enjoy baking every now and then and this is because I find some kind of creativity in it. Making cupcakes and decorating them is something I really enjoy doing.
I also like making cocktails in Summer or alternatively, experimenting with flavours and making hot drinks in Winter. Last year, during the festive season, I made cinnamon hot chocolate with vanilla ice-cream. Despite the weird combination of ingredients, this was the best hot drink I have ever tasted.
Today I am here to talk about this mug cake made in microwave in only two minutes.
Microwave mug cake made in only 2 minutes
As a busy mama I am always after something quick and easy in the kitchen. Therefore making delicious cakes in just two minutes sounded like a miracle to me. Yes, these microwave mug cakes are life changer and they are the best thing that have come out of my kitchen.
As I mentioned above, I like to experiment with the ingredients. So the day I decided to make this yummy mug cake I did not have my regular baking butter in the fridge.
I decided to use Jamie Oliver olive oil. I was quite sceptical at first but I had to take the plunge. Lucky enough his olive oil was the perfect alternative to the butter.
First I warmed up the oil and six cubes of milk chocolate in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. After the chocolate melted, I steered until smoothened.
Next I allowed the mixture to cool down slightly. Than, one by one, I, whisked in one egg, sugar, flower and baking powder. I sprinkled the cherries with a little flour and added them in the mug without stirring too much. microwave mug cakeMicrowave chocolate mug cake with roasted hazelnuts and glacé cherries made in only 2 minutes.Click To Tweet
Cook for less than two minutes and decorate…
All I had to do is cook it in the microwave for 1 minute and 20 seconds.
(You will notice how the mixture is raising up and it slowly thickens.)
Once it cooled down slightly, I decorated it with whipped cream, roasted hazelnuts and the rest of the cherries.
