Quick and easy chocolate banana pops | the perfect Summer snack

I was browsing on Pinterest few days ago and I saw this delicious summer snack which instantly caught my eye. I wanted to make my own version of it so I headed to my local store to buy the ingredients I needed. There was a pale pink sugar in the baking section which looked quite interesting… also the dried berries were the perfect addition to my little project. So I got both of them! I also thought that nuts topping will taste dreamy, so I added it to my shopping basket too. chocolate banana pops

The delicious snack I am talking about is Chocolate Banana Pops decorated with fun and yummy toppings.

They are very quick and easy to make!

All I had to buy is 5 bananas and my favourite milk chocolate. The fun part was choosing the toppings I was going to decorate my banana pops with.

When I got home the first thing I had to do is melt the chocolate. It is important to stir the chocolate at all times, otherwise it might burn very easily. Then I peeled and chopped the bananas in half. For my banana pops I decided to use wooden bbq skewers. You should insert the skewers until the banana feel stable enough.

Once the chocolate was completely melted, I held the skewer and swirled the banana in the melted chocolate until was completely covered. Sometimes the chocolate tend to be quite thick. In this case you can use spoon or knife and spread the chocolate evenly on the banana.

The fun part…

Sprinkle the chocolate with any topping of your choice to make the banana pop look pretty and to add extra flavour. It is important to work quickly as the chocolate sets very soon after it has been spread on the banana. I found it more convenient when I placed the toppings in shallow dish right next to the chocolate. This way it was much easier to quickly swirl the banana in them, otherwise the chocolate sets pretty quickly and they won’t stick on it.

For my toppings I used Fruity Shimmer Sugar, dried raspberries and roasted chopped hazelnuts. I also grated the orange zest and used that as a topping.

After everything has been done, you can place them on a baking foil and store them in the fridge for about 20 minutes. After 20/30 min you can take them out of the fridge and enjoy them with family and friends.

These banana pops are perfect for Spring/Summer. They also make a nice snack for any children’s party.
