The Body Shop Japanese Camellia Cream /Review

The Body Shop Japanese Camellia Cream /Review 1

Japanese Camellia Cream is part of The Body Shop new Spa of The World range. The range including bath milks, creams, massage oils and exfoliants.

” We know the importance of ‘ME’ time, so we have created a luxurious Spa of the world range. With relaxing, revitalizing and a blissful ritual to choose from, you can bring that #spathroom experience directly into your home. ” say The Body Shop experts.

I would say this range looks more luxurious than most of The Body Shop products. The packaging really reminds me of a spa treatment and the scent is sophisticated and relaxing.

Even thought I have very dry skin I decided to get Japanese Camellia Cream instead of Hawaiian Kukui Cream. Hawaiian Kakui cream has a thicker consistency and it is suitable for dry skin, but the lady in the shop explained to me that because it is so rich, it leaves a greasy residue and it takes longer to absorb into the skin.

The Body Shop Spa of the World range review, Japanese Camellia Cream review, velvet moisture body cream, mousse texture body cream, floral scented body cream, light but rich body cream, moisturizer that does not leave oily residue, scent that last all day on the body, spa, relaxing, revitalizing, silky soft skin, smooth body skin, not greasy residue body lotion, spa treatment

  • The texture and scent

Japanese Camellia Cream  is light, but rich moisturizer. The consistency looks almost like a mousse and it apples nicely and evenly. Japanese Camellia Cream makes my skin smooth and moisturized and little goes a long way. The unusual mousse texture was the main reason I reached for this exact body cream. This moisturizer absorbs quickly and does not leave an oily feeling afterwords. It is great if you are on a hurry and you need to dress up right after the application. Japanese Camellia Cream gives the normal/ dry skin just the right amount of moisture. If you suffer from a very dry skin I would not recommend this moisturizer for you and I would probably go for Hawaiian Kukui Cream instead. The scent is floral and a bit strong, but I really enjoy it as it lasts on my skin for a really long time.

  • The packaging

The packaging looks luxurious and sophisticated. The cream comes in 350 ml for £23. The amount of product you get i think the price tag is worth it. I would say it is not travel friendly tho, as it is quite heavy and bulky, but I think it will look really nice on top of your vanity table or bathroom shelve. The packaging of the whole range really gives that spa, relaxed kind of feeling.

The Body Shop experts say ” Camellia oil has been used by Japanese women since the 8th century to gently soften and moisturize skin. The exquisite scent of this pure and elegant flower allows mind and body to reconnect with a moment of profound peace. Use this rich body cream with a light, velvety texture as part of our relaxing ritual when you’re in need of a fast-track to tranquillity. “

Overall I think it is really great product for normal to dry skin. It feels luxurious and it smells fresh, but sophisticated at the same time. The scent lasts really long time on the skin and it is great value for money if you want to treat yourself with something special.
